Welcome!

Congratulations! You have found the Habershons.com family website, started in December 2001. All Habershons and non-Habershons are welcome to wander around. Stick a pin in the Guest Map; leave a message in the Message Book; and if you're a Habershon, please let us know you were here so we can list you in our Branch Office. And if you are looking for stuff on Bikram Yoga or Mini Coopers, click on the pictures in the left-hand column.

We also encourage you to register. This takes less than a minute and will allow you to view and leave comments, chat in the chat box at left, and look at the photograph albums. And if you're logged in you'll never see this annoying message again.

Thank you for coming by!

Catherine Athearn (née Habershon)

An obituary notice for Matthew Habershon(1757-1841) from the Sheffield & Rotherham Independent for 20 March 1841:

'Mr Habershon, venerable not only for his years, but more for all those qualities which elevate and adorn the character, was held in the most respectful esteem by a large circle of Christian friends, ministers and laymen, who often sought his society, as well for mental and moral improvement, as for the pleasure of friendship.  His mind was stored with extensive and solid acquirements in various departments of literature and science, particularly mathematics, his mental powers being active and vigorous, and his habits studious.  Above all he excelled in biblical and theological knowledge. All who knew him will testify to the uniform sobriety of his judgment, and the spirituality of his mind.  As a servant, who long held a post of active labour and important trust in the extensive establishment of Messrs. J.Walker & Co at the Holmes, he was faithful and diligent. In retirement he was honourable and useful.  Of him, it may truly be said, that he was a just man and devout; blameless and unreprovable before men; an humble Christian, filled with the fruits of righteousness.'
