It’s so strange to sit here in Houston listening to Radio 2 and hearing that there’s a 3-mile traffic jam on the road from Shepton Mallet to Pensford via Farrington Gurney.
Ferrari have appointed Pat Fry as assistant technical director just over a month after he quit rivals McLaren.
Fry left his role as chief engineer at the Woking-based outfit in May after 18 years and his new job begins on 1 July.

Fry would have played a key role in developing McLaren’s 2011 car but will now use his experience at Ferrari.

Anyone have the inside scoop on this? Did he have the job lined up back in May?
It’s been more than two years since we heard that a Whole Foods Market was going up near our house. They’ve JUST started building. John and I took a walk down there this evening to check it out. It’s 818 paces from our doorstep.
Here’s an update on the crepe myrtle pruning experiment. Remember that I pruned the one on the left? Click on the picture and see which one has bloomed first.
Of course, we’ll have to wait until the non-pruned one blooms. Maybe it’ll bloom for longer. I think, though, that pruning is the answer.
